Story
Struggling with his dual identity, failed comedian Arthur Fleck meets the love of his life, Harley Quinn, while incarcerated at Arkham State Hospital. Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson, and writer-director Todd Phillips share their biggest fears about taking on the musical sequel. The film’s subtitle, “Folie a Deux,” translates to “The Madness of Two” in French.
The name Folie a Deux comes from 19th-century French psychiatrists Charles Lasègue and Jules Falret
This initially led to speculation that Harley Quinn would appear in the film, which was soon confirmed. The term was coined to refer to two or more people who share the same madness or delusion. Also known as Lasègue-Falret syndrome, the jury’s official mistakenly refers to “The People of New York” instead of Gotham City.

I absolutely loved the first Joker film directed by Todd Phillips, but I have to say what the hell were they thinking when they decided to make a sequel. Unlike the first film, this film has almost no story, but rather a series of strange, delusional vignettes thrown in with musical numbers that got old very quickly and made the running time much longer than it needed to be considering how unentertaining it actually was. Joaquin Phoenix delivers a decent performance, but it’s nowhere near as good as he was in the first film.
I wasn’t sure when I watched the trailer, but now that I’ve watched it, I kind of regret not doing so
I waited impatiently, thinking that this must be building to some big moment that unfortunately never comes, and instead I was left with nothing but disappointment as the film ends on a darker note than it began. If you’re a fan of the first film, it’s hard to say whether you’ll like this one or not, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
