Coincidentally, Aidan Turner previously filmed at Chavenage House (The Priory in Rivals)
Story
It follows Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham as a long-standing rivalry comes to a head. The same location was used to depict Trenwith House in the 2015 BBC adaptation of Poldark.
I was nervous too ~ as I loved the books
When I first saw Rivals coming out I was a little excited. 5 minutes into the first episode and I was hooked.
The clothes, the make-up, the music ~ what a soundtrack
Each episode is fast-paced, there is never a moment where it feels boring or drawn out like so many miniseries do. The characters are all unique and so well played, the acting and casting are fantastic.
This series is fun, bold, colorful, and nostalgic
I understand the disappointment that Rupert’s look has been changed. but it really isn’t a big deal and doesn’t have a lasting impact.
Please, there should be more
It doesn’t disappoint at all, and let’s take a moment to appreciate David Tennen, who once again plays the ‘bad’ guy perfectly.
