The funny thing is that I don’t remember the book like this at all
In the timeless city of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family must come to terms with love, oblivion, and the inevitability of their past and fate. This is Netflix’s most expensive Latin American project to date, with Colombian groups and indigenous communities building props and sets for the series. Sure, it was scary, but then again, the author is very poetic when it comes to bringing out ancient curses and the like…
or tragic love, human nature
It’s all from a master of the genre. I was swept away by pretty much everything, not in the first episode, but I was mesmerized there, and I hope you let the alchemy/magic happen like I did. Let a beggar’s cloak wrap you in its fantastic story.
Like a Game of Thrones fever
It’s all about history and memory, and how unreliable and convoluted they are, and what we make of them. I now have a hankering to reread the novel! The difference is that I can’t read the original, only a translation.
A sad but beautiful one
It’s not a Dickens Christmas story for children, but it is a story for adults. And most welcome in our politically troubled times. No need to waste time scrolling endlessly – here’s the full lineup of new films and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
