With his bloodthirsty urges no longer able to be ignored, young Dexter Morgan must learn to channel his inner darkness as he goes from college student to vengeful serial killer, under the guidance of his father, Harry. Christian Slater is older than James Remar when Dexter (2006) first aired. Followed by Dexter: Resurrection (2025). I am a huge Dexter fan, through and through.
Like Harry (according to Dexter), change doesn’t come easy to me
Dexter (seasons 1-8) is the only show I rewatch all the time. So when Dexter: New Blood came out, at first the change of scenery, the coldness, the absence of some beloved actors, and the lack of humor and Latin music disappointed me greatly. However, after watching it as a standalone series (without any comparison to the original), it won me over. Now, with this new series, of course, we’re not used to the new faces in the cast.

We all remember that young Dexter, Deb, and Harry were different, even Laura Moser. However, I think it may be unfair to judge the casting since we’re not in the shoes of the casting directors and producers. I think they had to consider a lot of things besides just the similar appearance. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, James Remar, and the rest of the original cast could magically play younger versions of their own characters, but time only goes one way.
(Bonus: I really like Christian Slater
He’s awesome as always!) So far, after watching the first episode twice, I like it. I think everyone did a pretty decent job filling those big Dexter shoes. In fact, I can’t deny the fact that I’m even more excited to watch Dexter: Resurrection after getting a glimpse of Dexter’s resuscitation in the ER. .In short, I think this show is cool and will probably keep me interested even more as time goes on.
