I saw this film in my favorite small local arthouse cinema without knowing what to expect. I have learned to love films where I can watch other people’s lives. People doing everyday things. When they are set in different cultures, they are even more interesting. Here we follow the life of an elderly woman in Iran and I was so touched by the beauty of the little things, from dinner with her friends, to how she goes about her day. The film contains an unexpected surprise that stayed with me for a long time afterwards. It made me appreciate being able to see this film and living my life (as a woman) in Europe. I highly recommend this film.
