Detective Kat Donovan’s world falls apart when she finds her boyfriend on a dating app. This leads her to reopen the cold case of her father’s murder. This will be the fourth adaptation of Harlan Coben’s novel starring Richard Armitage. Here’s the revised and polished version of your update: I just watched all five episodes. I wasn’t entirely sold on the second episode, but decided to watch it to the end. Cohen adaptations seem to follow a pattern of largely unrelated or overly complicated plot threads that all come together neatly in the final episode. While the previous ones were pretty good, this one felt really weak in comparison. There wasn’t much plot in this episode, and all the “aha” moments were concentrated in the last episode – typical Cohen from what I’ve seen. The acting was okay and the characters weren’t terrible, but the story just wasn’t compelling or engaging. It was more like getting to the end. I wouldn’t say don’t watch it, but if you have other options lined up, I’d definitely put it before this one.
