a warehouse in Quebec; five people have been sentenced to prison
Story
When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan to get revenge and shake up the industry. A collection of strange characters in dire situations who try to pull off a maple syrup heist to save their financial woes. Ruth, whose husband is in a coma, has lost her right to sell maple syrup to the cartel led by Leonard.
He is the sole holder of the entire maple syrup supply
It turns out that her husband owns the rights to collect the syrup, so she has been fined for illegally using his rights. Remy, a kind of hapless character, is the guard at the warehouse where all the syrup is stored and used to sneak out of the warehouse at night with a friend who is suddenly murdered. With Ruth in financial trouble, the only way forward was a much larger-scale heist, and she and Remy dragged Mike into the plan.
The truth is something else entirely
Mike looks like a force capable of great things. And with all the personality clashes and confusion, it almost turns into the Keystone police madness. Whenever they seem to have things under control, setbacks occur, and their approach to trying to solve them is a big part of the humor.
And a very interesting cameo appearance
Denial is what leads to a second season, so there are a lot of loose ends. And as was very clear, that’s not how the actual heist was committed. So this is a ridiculously fictionalized account.
